🔹 Why Caregiver Training Matters
Parents and caregivers are the most important people in a child’s life. By learning ABA strategies and understanding how behavior works, families gain the tools they need to:
Respond effectively to challenging behaviors
Reinforce desired skills throughout the day
Increase consistency between therapy and home
Feel confident in supporting their child’s growth
Training is tailored to each family’s needs, ensuring practical, achievable strategies that fit into real-life routines.
🔹 What Training Looks Like
Our caregiver training is hands-on, supportive, and based on the principles of Behavioral Skills Training (BST), which includes:
Instruction: We explain each strategy clearly and answer your questions.
Modeling: The therapist demonstrates the skill in session.
Practice: Caregivers try the strategy themselves, with support.
Feedback: We provide positive reinforcement and coaching.
Training sessions may take place:
During regular ABA therapy appointments
In dedicated caregiver-only meetings
Via telehealth for added flexibility
🔹 Topics We Commonly Cover
Depending on your child’s goals, training may focus on:
Managing problem behaviors with consistency
Teaching communication (verbal, sign, or alternative methods)
Supporting transitions and routines (bedtime, meals, hygiene)
Increasing independence with daily living tasks
Reinforcing skills like waiting, following directions, and tolerating delays
Generalizing skills to new people and environments
🔹 Ongoing Support
Caregiver training is not a one-time event—it’s a partnership. As your child grows and goals evolve, we continue to adjust strategies and offer guidance that works for your family. We also provide written resources and tools to reinforce what you’ve learned between sessions.
🔹 How to Get Started
If you’re ready to take a more active role in your child’s therapy, we’re here to guide and support you. Caregiver involvement is encouraged from day one and continues throughout the entire treatment process.
